Very informative, attentive, qualified and caring. Each time I see him, there are noticeable signs of the idea of "continuous improvement" in their clinic and their pursuit of being the best provider in their field. Which they are! My scoliosis is severe but as an older adult, I need to know what all my options are. Dr Hey has worked with me to find ways to avoid surgery if possible. They have their specialits in Schroth PT which is the best. They train others therapists. They acknowledge patients' desire to make use of equipment at home. Dr Hey genuinely cares about every single client. You will not be disappointed!!!!! Rusol Albadri2021-08-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When I first met Dr. Hey I instantly knew he would help with my scoliosis. I know everyone out there dealing with scoliosis have it hard, as in pain wise and mentally because of the way scoliosis changes the body. I was really scared at first knowing I had to get surgery to fix it but my first time meeting Dr. Hey it’s like he made it all go away and gave me strength and confidence. Him and his team are people you really never forget about because of the way they change your life to the better. Anyways, my degree was 53.7 on the top and 68.5 on the bottom from what I can remember and now i’m all good and fused with rods and screws which is really cool actually and it’s made my life so much better in so many countless ways. But I could name two, my pain went away and I have nothing to be insecure about anymore and instead I have a really cool looking scar. I haven’t had any problems after surgery with the incredible work Dr. Hey has done on my back. With that being said, I highly recommend for Dr. Hey to be the one to help you. I’ll forever remember how much you changed my life and how much you mean to me and my family. I cant thank you enough for helping me mentally and physically even after surgery. God bless you. I traveled to Raleigh from Williamsburg, VA with my 25 year old son who had been diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease recently after ending up in the hospital with what they thought was kidney stones. For the last 3 months my son has been been in excruciating, debilitating pain. He has seen a variety of doctors here in our area trying to find help, to no avail. He has been dismissed and treated as if he is drug seeking. Out of desperation I made a post on Facebook asking if anyone had any recommendations. Someone I know responded and suggested we should visit Hey Clinic. I did some research and found that Dr. Hey is listed on sdfund.org as a provider that has experience with treating Scheuermann's Disease. I called the office and was treated with compassion and respect, even after I broke down in tears trying to explain our plight. After several conversations with the staff we made an appointment. I wasn't easy on the staff. I asked lots of questions, cried, and asked MORE questions. They were sooooooooo nice to me and took the time to research my questions without making me feel like I was a bother. It was quite refreshing after the way we had been treated by other offices as I was trying to find the right specialist for us to continue our quest for treatment. When we arrived at the clinic we were again treated with so much patience, compassion and respect. Dr. Hey diagnosed my son with a much more serious deformity of the spine than we had been led to believe previously. Nearly a 30 degree difference in the amount of kyphosis curve! I could tell by looking at the X-ray that the reason for the difference in diagnosis was due to the way the X-ray had been taken. He explained the options and gave us HOPE! Finally! HOPE!!!!! We immediately agreed to surgery and are looking forward to the experience. My son's demeanor on the way home (4 hours!) was so different. For the first time in 3 months I saw a glimmer of hope in his eyes. I'm so thankful for Dr. Hey and his staff. I can't wait to write an updated review after my son's surgery.

Children / Adolescents
When identified early, there are several conservative treatments that can be utilized to help prevent progression of a curve, or in some cases, even help correct it!

Adults
While scoliosis is generally diagnosed in childhood, existing curves can progress as an adult, or new curves can develop. Therefore, it is important to continue monitoring scoliosis and kyphosis throughout the lifespan.

Seniors
Scoliosis and kyphosis can continue to progress in older adults as a result of degeneration and decreased bone quality.
